Repost Not Showing in TikTok? How To Fix

Have you ever seen a video you loved so much that you wanted everyone you knew to watch it? If you use TikTok, the answer is probably a resounding “yes,” since the app has many fun features. This enjoyable sharing activity may be hindered by the Repost button not showing up. You’ve come to the proper place if you’re wondering why you can’t repost a TikTok video. In the following paragraphs, find out what can make the Repost button disappear and how to fix it.

Outdated App

An app must receive regular updates to function properly. TikTok is no different, as each update adds new features or fixes problems. If you haven’t set up automatic updates for TikTok on your mobile device, you strength not be able to see the app’s latest features.

The option to repost is fairly new, so you might not see it until you update your TikTok app.

How to Update TikTok on Android

On Android, updating TikTok manually is a fairly simple process. We’re going there to find an answer because the Play Store is Android’s app management tool.

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
    Repost Not Showing in TikTok
  2. Tap on the picture of your profile.

  3. Apps & Devices should be selected.
  4. Go to Available Updates.

  5. Find TikTok by scrolling down.
  6. On the right, click the Update button.

Check if the yellow repost button is back where it should be after the update process is complete by launching TikTok.

If TikTok isn’t on the list of apps that need updates, you have the most recent version. In this case, you’ll need to do more research to find out why the repost option isn’t working.

How to Update TikTok on an iPhone

With frequent updates that add new features, TikTok keeps its users busy. You should keep your app updated to take advantage of all its features. Here’s how to manually check for updates on your iPhone:

  1. Launch the App Store.

  2. Type TikTok into the search bar at the top of the screen.

  3. To open the app’s menu, click on it.
  4. Tap the button that says Update.

Your app is current if you don’t see the Update button. This means that the report option isn’t showing up has nothing to do with the version of the app you’re using.

If you followed our steps and updated the app correctly, it’s time to return to TikTok. Check whether the repost option was returned after updating the app. Next, find the video you want to share with your followers.

Feature Not Available for You

Like many other apps, TikTok gradually adds new major updates. During the testing phase, app developers typically make the app available to a small group of users. After thoroughly testing the feature and getting feedback, they roll it out to everyone.

It may not be available if you can’t find the Repost option on your TikTok app. Be patient and check with your friends in the same country. We’re confident you’ll quickly be able to enjoy this feature.

Video Not Available for Repost

Let’s say you’re sure your TikTok app is updated, and the repost feature is available in your country. In that case, it’s time to focus on the video you want to share rather than the app.

Not every TikTok video has the repost option available. The only videos you can share with your followers using this option are those you find on your For You page.

So, if you watched a great TikTok but can’t find the repost button, you must go back through your steps. Finding where you found the video may be the missing piece of the puzzle.

The Discover Tab

TikTok makes it easy to get lost in the scrolling and forget how you got to the video you’re watching.
You can quickly check if you’re on the Discover page.

To go back to the previous screen, simply click the Back button. The answer is on the Discover page. For videos you find there, the option to repost is not available.

The Following Tab

Scrolling through your Home page looks the same whether you’re looking at the following or For You tabs.
Because of this, you might forget that you’re not on your For You page.

If you could repost videos from both tabs, this wouldn’t be a problem. Sadly, if the video you like is already on your Following page, the Repost button won’t appear.

Simply look at the top of your screen to check this. If the Following button is bigger, you won’t be able to repost any videos you’ve seen while scrolling down that page.

The Inbox Tab

Sometimes you get so caught up in a TikTok video that you forget you didn’t find it. Instead, someone sent it to you.

You can’t share this happiness just yet, which is sad. Reposting videos you’ve received in your inbox is not permitted on TikTok.

To make sure of this, simply tap the Back button.  If your inbox chats with a friend pop up, the video they sent must stay between you for now.

Share the Fun

Realizing that your friends also enjoy a video you particularly like is arguably the best feeling in the world. Follow our guide to learn why you can’t use the TikTok Repost button yet. You can always share the fun by manually sending the video to your friends until the feature is available.
